Skewd

The Grove Hotel

Following the success of the Skewd pop-up in 2025, the restaurant now finds a permanent home within a hidden setting at The Grove Hotel, nestled amongst 300 acres of landscape. The project represents an evolution of the original Skewd concept, thoughtfully reinterpreted for its new context.

As part of the Skewd Kitchen family, the design supports a more eclectic dining experience, unfolding across two distinct yet connected spaces. An outdoor marquee sits within the Victorian Walled Garden, offering a vibrant, seasonal setting, while the indoor restaurant is housed within a converted potting shed, a beautifully restored Victorian glasshouse that balances rustic charm with a refined, contemporary sensibility.

The material palette evokes an eclectic indoor/outdoor dining experience, balancing tactile warmth with understated refinement. Glazed tiles wrap the bar frontage, introducing depth, sheen and a subtle artisanal quality, while woven rattan lighting brings softness and texture overhead. A neutral palette of warm earth tones, natural timbers and layered finishes creates a relaxed atmosphere that feels effortlessly casual yet thoughtfully composed.
